Exploring The Elegance And Luxury Of The Cigar Pipe

By Kurt Naulaerts

A cigar pipe is also known as smoking pipe. It is a device with which people smoke tobacco. Most of the pipes are wooden made. They contain a small bowl and a thin stem. The small bowl is used for the combustion of the tobacco. The thin stem is known as shank that ends in a mouthpiece. The mouthpiece, as the name suggests, is used to draw smoke from the smoker's mouth.

The Small Chamber Of The Cigar Pipe
The materials used to manufacture the small chamber of the pipe may include briar, corncob, meerschaum, and clay. Cherrywood, olivewood, maple, mesquite, and oak are also used, but not as frequently as are used the materials mentioned earlier. A dense-grained wood is the most common material that is used to make the bowl.

Shanks And Mouthpiece
The materials used to manufacture the shanks and mouthpiece may include vulcanite, lucite, Bakelite, and soft plastic. Reeds, bamboo, or hollowed out pieces of wood are also used. The cigar pipe that has shanks and mouthpiece made of amber is highly expensive and they make for the ultimate luxury.

Briar
These are the most modern and most common types of cigars that people like to use. They can be either handmade or machine made. There are several reasons that make briar an ideal material to manufacture pipes. For example, they offer ultimate natural resistance to fire. Again, they have tremendous capacity to absorb moisture, and this way, the process keeps the tobacco alive.

Calabash
These are another popular yet highly expensive type sold anywhere. They offer a classic shape that adds to your ultimate smoking experience. However, sometimes, in order to reduce the cost, wood is also used instead of calabash gourd, but shape and functionality remain the same. Most of these pipes usually have an air chamber beneath the bowl that is very helpful in cooling, drying, and mellowing the smoke.

The cigar pipes add to the elegance and luxury of the cigars. They offer a high quality for lifetime. There are various tobacco experts in the cigar companies who carefully choose and refine the tobacco to be used in the pipes. Different types of tobacco leaves are put together to achieve a flavor that could provide the smoker an unforgettable smoking pleasure.
