What should the temperature and humidity be inside my humidor?

Answered By Allan Hixby, Editor

Keeping your expensive cigars fresh, it needs to be at the right temperature and at the right humidity. This is why it is important that you should carefully buy a humidor that has the right temperature and the right humidity inside it. The humidity inside a humidor should not be less than 65%, if the humidity drops you need to add distilled water to the humidifier.

The temperature should also be considered. This is why it is always a good idea to put a thermometer inside your humidor. The temperature should not exceed 72 degrees F or 22 degrees C to prevent tobacco beetle infestation. The ideal temperature for tobacco ranges from 15 to 18 degrees C.
