How do I deal with low or high humidity inside the humidor?

Answered By Allan Hixby, Editor

The perfect humidity for a cigar is at 70%. If the humidity rises, you can readjust your hygrometer to get it back to the acceptable humidity level. It is important that you should maintain it with 70% humidity because if it gets too high or gets over 75% humidity your cigar may get soaked. Eventually, prolonged exposure to high humidity levels will ruin it.

If the humidity is too low, your cigar may dry out, and lose flavor. Readjust your hygrometer to get it back to the recommended level of 70% humidity.

If your hygrometer isn't reliable, you should buy another hygrometer and replace your old one. It is recommended that you should buy an accurate hygrometer to ensure the best condition for your cigars.
