Water for humidor. Does it have to be distilled water only in the humidifier, or can it be spring water?

Can you answer dc11978's question about humidors?:

I am low and cannot make it to get more "distilled water" but I have Zephyrhills bottled water and was curious if that would throw the balance off in the humidor?

spring water should not do damage, if it does build up with chemicals from the water just pour white vinager thru it and run it for a min and it cleans it well….

Distilled water is best because it is 100% pure. Spring water as small traces of particulates that over time will build up much like the white grime in your bathtub. Repetitive use will cause this problem, so I say for this one time you would be fine

You will be ok this time. Just try and stick to the distilled and use the additives that are commonly sold in better cigar stores or magazines.
