Cigars in desktop humidor – leave in celophane, or take them out?
Can you answer MissDeviance's question about humidors?:
I just got hubby some cigars for Fathers Day (even though he's not a dad, but who cares).
When he puts them in his desk top humidor, is it better to keep them in the celophane wrappers or take them out?
(Some come with, some come without. Generally most of the cigars he likes are similar types, so there shouldn't be an issue with different cigar types taking on flavors of neighboring cigars.)
I'm more concerned with how the 70% humidity hits the cigars. Does it get through the loose celophane anyway, or is it better to remove the celophane and let the humidity hit the cigars directly? Or does the celophane actually keep the cigars fresher?
